Bed Bug Lawsuits Filed Against Luxor and Treasure Island Hotels in Las Vegas

Two well-known Las Vegas Strip hotels—Luxor Hotel and Casino and Treasure Island—are facing lawsuits after guests claim they were bitten by bed bugs during their stays last summer. The lawsuits, filed April 21, include three cases against Luxor and one against Treasure Island.

Attorney Brian Virag, representing the guests, emphasizes the hotel’s legal responsibility to ensure rooms are free from bed bugs and criticizes inadequate housekeeping practices. Victims allege severe bites, scarring, and in one case, a hospital visit after a serious reaction.Notably, one guest at Treasure Island was reportedly moved to another room, only to experience additional bites and a second confirmed bed bug infestation. Luxor guests reported similar issues, including emergency medical care and inadequate compensation.

The hotels have not responded to media inquiries. The lawsuits seek financial damages, and the incidents add to a broader concern—health records show other high-profile Las Vegas hotels also had bed bug issues in 2024.This situation underscores the ongoing responsibility of hospitality operators to maintain safe, hygienic conditions, regardless of room price or prestige.
